"Getting Back to Hiking"

"I am now able to live painlessly"
“I am a very active person; I work long days at a busy salon, and I enjoy physical activities such as working out, hiking, etc. I had experienced severe hip/lower back pain which gradually got worse. My first thought was that I would have to put a stop to all of the activities I loved. I then made the great decision to come to Maccio PT where I made improvements in about a month. I went from calling out of work and canceling plans, to being able to work normally and workout at my leisure! The team here is very knowledgeable and was able to enlighten me on why I was having so much pain, I feel so much better! Even my family and friends have noticed that I’m doing well. I no longer have to call out of work/manage pain. I'm now able to live painlessly!” – Olivia

"I Highly Recommend Maccio Physical Therapy"
“I came to see Joe Maccio for a mid-back pain that was
constantly affecting my quality of life. I actually thought I had something wrong with my lungs since I could
feel the pain when breathing. Now in
just a few short months of PT with Joe, the pain is gone. The facility is clean and well-kept and the
staff is lovely with a firm understanding of patient care. I highly recommend Maccio Physical Therapy to
anyone experiencing acute or chronic pain.” – L.B.

"I Now Feel 100%"
“Before coming to Maccio, I was unable to complete daily
tasks because of knee pain. Even a bodyweight squat was nearly impossible.
After a few weeks of PT and working through my exercises, I now feel
100% confident in any situation where my knee is needed to complete a
task. I hope to
continue strengthening my knee and return to a normal gym routine.” – Dylan

"I am a 29-year-old male working as a graduate student at RPI who was in great health until August of 2019. From then, I slowly began suffering from progressively worsening finger and arm nerve pain. Over six months I saw many specialists trying to identify the issue. With imaging revealing nothing, I felt very hopeless as the quality of my life was rapidly starting to deteriorate, and daily activities and sleeping were becoming difficult because of the pain, which at times was overwhelming. After a brief stint trying medication to deal with the issue, I realized the root cause was not being addressed and was suggested by multiple people to try physical therapy, even without a diagnosis. Maccio has excellent reviews, was conveniently close-by, and had already been vetted for me as another lab member had glowing praise of Maccio and their ability to help her carpal tunnel. The process of signing up for an appointment was easy and fast, I had an appointment within a few days.
I did not really know what to expect, but upon explaining the pain progression and my general academic lifestyle of being hunched over a laptop for the past few years, they were able to immediately identify which stretches would counter whatever damage or pressure I was putting on my nerves with my posture. Even after the first few sets of stretches I felt relief from the awful almost continuous nerve pain in my left arm.
I routinely went to Maccio and continued with the sets of stretches assigned to me. It was difficult at times to remember to consistently do the stretches, but relief from my pain was steady as long as I continued to do them. Within a month or so, the pain levels had drastically reduced. Now, almost all my previous symptoms are gone, and I have little issues doing everything I need to at work and home. I can without a doubt say the stretches Maccio assigned worked incredibly for my posture issue and without them, I would likely be still suffering, on medication I hated, and still trying to diagnose the issue with expensive medical visits.
I’d also like to recognize I visited
Maccio during the Covid-19 pandemic and throughout that time I saw exceptional adherence to pandemic guidelines,
including social distancing, mask-wearing, and disinfection of equipment. I’d
also like to personally say thank you to my physical therapist,
Dr. Lindsay who
worked with me directly. If we weren’t going through a pandemic I would give
you a long hug. Your attitude, positivity, and knowledge of your field was so
helpful in getting me through this, thank you so much for being so good at your
job, I cannot stress how much the quality of my life physically and mentally
has improved because of you." - Alex

"Thank You Maccio Physical Therapy"
“I was seen by Lindsay in October 2019 due to severe back
pain. I completed a bunch of sessions
with her and learned a ton! The best
part was I learned exercises that helped take the pain away. I slowly made progress and finished physical therapy. Fast forward to October 2020,
after giving birth to twins I again found myself in excruciating back
pain. My body changed drastically after
birth and my back went out on me again.
I knew I needed to make the call to Maccio. I requested Lindsay again because she helped
me so much the first time around. After
going through the series of exercises again she has helped me yet again. I am now leaving with an abundance of
knowledge as well as the comfort of knowing I can always return in case my back
pain arises again. Thank you Maccio Physical Therapy and
most importantly Lindsay!” – Carolyn

"Pain-free and back to my normal self"
“I was referred due to sciatic pain
in my left side. This was the first time
I ever went to see a physical therapist.
I was in so much pain that I could barely walk, drive, or sleep a full
night without pain. The first day after
completing some of the exercises I started to get a little relief. Then I went back as directed for different sets
of exercises each time and my pain decreased with doing them at home as
well. After only two weeks I was
pain-free and back to my normal self thanks to Maccio Physical Therapy.” - Tammy
